We kept buying a scale and taking them back because they were consistenly inacccurate. This one, was spot on right out of the box and has remained that way since. In addition, it is solar powered, no batteries and it automatically lights up within seconds of turning the bathroom light on. It's perfect. I would recommend it again and again. And it looks nice which is important because it is out in plane sight!

I bought this scale after reading many online reviews. I wanted just one thing - ACCURACY! I got it and am happy. The only drawback is that my bathroom is not always bright, especially in the wintertime. Thus I have to take the scale to a brighter area on dark and dreary days for it to send out a display. All in all though, accuracy was most important to me, and it is right on with my doctor's high end scale every time! I would recommend it and would buy it again!

The Tanita Solar scale is extremely accurate. I really like it. The only drawback is that we have a dark bathroom. If I want to weigh I have to leave the overhead light on for awhile to activate it. Other than that it's perfect. Fits very well with any decor. J. White

I wanted an accurate scale no bells and whistles just the correct weight. I got it with this scale, it works great when it has enough light. That is the problem I have with it. I am not weighing myself outside naked in the sunlight, nor do I have a skylight in my bathroom. Maybe if you have a lot of light in your room and I mean a lot it will be great for you. I just have to pick it up hold it underneath a lamp wait for the zero's to appear, get it on the ground and back to zero's and stand on it hoping it didn't loose its energy from the 3 foot bedside table to the floor. I wish I had the same scale but with either battery power or plug in power.

I researched carefully before I bought this scale in the bright days of mid summer. The solar powered feature was very appealing. Environmentally friendly! No more batteries! I didn't realize until I read the instructions that the scale will only operate properly under very specific lighting conditions; conditions so specific that they include a diagram. Which, interestingly enough, shows a) a bright electric lamp (Yay! No more batteries! b) with a minimum wattage c) positioned no further than x distance from the scale. That's if you want to power it up. Anything less than that and the scale doesn't function properly, if it functions at all. Even in summer, on most mornings I have had to switch on the overhead light for a while before I can step on the scale and get a reading. I am not optimistic about weighing in during the long, dark mornings of the coming winter.
